Randstad USA in Newton, KS, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for a full-time, direct-hire role (M-F, 8-5). Pay is $23-$35/hr straight hourly, with medical and dental benefits after 90 days. Hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with occasional overtime in winter.

The role involves full-spectrum repair across gas vehicles and heavy diesels, diagnostics using Mitchell 1 and ShopKey, and logging hours/parts for billing. Perks include a summer schedule flexibility.

• 2 years of experience in diesel/mechanical work.

• Systems Work: brakes, A/C, electrical and hydraulics; no transmission rebuilds.
• Log hours/parts for customer billing.

Responsibilities

Diesel Mechanic (A or B Level)

Location: Newton, KS

Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Pay: Straight Hourly (No Flat Rate)

• A-Level: $27.00 – $35.00/hr (Start ~ $27/hr, reviews after probation)
• B-Level: $23.00 – $27.00/hr

Hours: M-F, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Overtime: ~1 hr/day average; heavily available during winter/snow months.

About Us

We are a full-service repair facility in Newton, KS handling gas cars, passenger vans, Class 8 heavy diesels, semi-trailers, and specialized equipment. What You’ll Do

• Full-Spectrum Repair: Bumper-to-bumper work across all makes (Ford, Chevy, Peterbilt) and sizes.
• Diagnostics: Use tools (Mitchell 1, ShopKey) to trace electrical, DEF, and engine codes.
• Systems Work: Brakes, A/C, electrical, and hydraulics. (No transmission rebuilds; we replace with new/rebuilt).
• Job Tracking: Log hours/parts accurately for customer billing.

What We Need

• Commercial Shop Experience: Proven ability to document work and track billable hours. (Home garage or single-fleet experience alone will not convert).
• Versatility & Troubleshooting: Diagnostic skills across gas/diesel platforms and light-to-heavy vehicles.
• Bonus Points: Hydraulics/electrical mastery, crane or Hy-Rail repair experience, Class A/B CDL.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• working up to 1 hrs of overtime per week
