The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing diagnosis and preventive maintenance services, as well as inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment. This role supports all aspects of mechanical repair and maintenance of vehicles, machines, equipment, and facilities.

Reports To

Shop Manager

Responsibilities
  1. Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
  2. Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  3. Work under limited supervision, following written instructions and established procedures.
  4. Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
  5. Use vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
  6. Perform emergency breakdown service calls.
  7. Conduct annual safety checks on vehicles.
  8. Complete paperwork using fleet maintenance software for repairs, parts, and repair times.
  9. Assist other mechanics with project work.
  10. Review and complete repairs on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks with or without accommodations.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Ability to use motor coordination and finger dexterity.
  • Ability to handle heavy objects and work in environments with dirt, noise, odors, and weather extremes.
  • Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
