Job summary

Transdev North America in Minneapolis is seeking an experienced A-Level (Level 3) Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across our fleet. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency and longevity of diesel assets, with duties ranging from diagnostics to preventative maintenance and complex repairs.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• ASE certifications required for promotion; ASE certification program provided.
• DOT drug testing and physical may apply per DOT regulations (49 CFR Part 40).

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.

Transdev in Minneapolis is seeking an experienced A-Level (Level 3) Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our diesel-powered assets.

CBA Position

• $33.25 – $48.58 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement PayScale)
• up to $50/hour for highly qualified technicians.
• Relocation negotiable.
• Shift differentials $2/hr. for second shift, $2/hr. for weekend hours
• ASE incentive program with $.25/hr. for each primary automotive certification and $.15/hr. for each secondary transit certification
• Additional $1000 annual bonus for maintaining ASE triple master status
• Additional $1000 annual bonus for maintaining ASE quad master status

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• ASE certifications required for promotion ; ASE certification program provided.
• Mechanic’s Tool Set
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

• Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
