VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC is seeking a qualified Mechanic to diagnose problems, perform inspections, and carry out maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and equipment. You will diagnose electrical issues, service air and hydraulic brakes, engines, transmissions, steering and suspensions, conduct DOT and CHP inspections, and keep crew vehicles and shop tools in safe condition.

Valid Driver License.
Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and electrical systems.
Operate tools and machinery safely per procedures.
Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Diagnose problems with company vehicles and equipment, including electrical issues.
Change truck tires regularly.
Perform vehicle inspections.
Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Maintain air and hydraulic brakes, engines, transmissions, steering, and suspensions.
Diagnose faults and confirm findings with supervisor.
Conduct DOT, BIT inspections, DVIR compliance and CHP repairs.
Keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe condition.
Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
Test and adjust units to specifications.

Job Summary

The Mechanic position is responsible to diagnose problems, perform inspections, perform vehicle maintenance and repairs on company vehicles and equipment.

Job Duties

Diagnose problems with company vehicles and equipment, including electrical issues.
Change truck tires regularly.
Perform vehicle inspections.
Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Responsible for maintenance and repair of air and hydraulic brakes, engines, transmissions, steering, and suspensions.
Diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor.
Conduct DOT, BIT inspections, DVIR compliance and CHP compliance repairs.
Keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition.
Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
Test and adjust units to specifications.

Requirements

3+ years of experience.
Valid Driver License.
General knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and electrical systems.
Knowledge of how to operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
Must be reliable, dependable, flexible, and a team player.
Ability to understand and follow instructions and technical manuals.
Excellent communication skills.
Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to use MS Office.
Mechanic Certification preferred.
Understanding of diagnostics software JPRO preferred.
MIG Welding is a plus.
