Position Summary

Riley Industrial Services is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Candidates must be able to pass a DOT physical and meet all company hiring requirements.

This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle systems, and preventative maintenance practices.

• Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functionality and safe operation.


• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.


• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment.


• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently and accurately.


• Complete and maintain detailed repair, maintenance, and diagnostic reports.


• Conduct routine inspections, including oil changes, tire rotations, and other scheduled maintenance services.


• Perform test drives and operational checks to verify repairs and equipment performance.


• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop and surrounding work areas.


• Follow all company safety procedures and industry regulations.


• Collaborate with supervisors, technicians, and other team members to complete repairs and maintenance projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.


• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana testing.


• Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.


• Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or in a related role preferred.


• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle systems, and repair procedures.


• Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


• Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.


• Physically capable of performing the duties associated with vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
