Job summary

Firematic in Loch Sheldrake, NY is hiring a full-time diesel/heavy-duty vehicle technician to diagnose, repair and maintain fire apparatus and emergency vehicles. You will service automotive, medium and heavy-duty trucks and small gas engines, applying up-to-date maintenance methods.

Ideal candidates have a self-starter attitude, knowledge of diesel engines, and a valid CDL B with Air Brakes (or willingness to obtain). ASE/EVT certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Self-starter with positive can-do attitude.
• Knowledge of Diesel engines preferred.
• Valid class CDL B drivers license with Air Brakes or willingness to obtain within the first year.
• Knowledge of up-to-date methods of maintaining autos, trucks and emergency vehicles preferred.
• ASE and/or EVT certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain fire apparatus and emergency vehicles.
• Perform skilled work maintaining automotive, medium and heavy-duty trucks, including Fire Division and Rescue (EMS) vehicles.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Diagnose, repair and maintain fire apparatus and emergency vehicles. Perform skilled work in maintaining automotive, medium and heavy-duty trucks, to include all Fire Division and Rescue (EMS) Division vehicles, including small gas engines and other associated equipment.

Requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Self-starter with positive can-do attitude

Knowledge of Diesel engines preferred

Valid class CDL B drivers license with Air Brakes or willingness to obtain within the first year

Knowledge of up-to-date methods of maintaining autos, trucks and emergency vehicles preferred

This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday 7:00-3:30.

Starting rate $25-35/hr depending on experience and certifications
