At our regional scrap metal recycling and processing centers, we are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of our diesel-powered equipment and machinery.

Job Summary:
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our diesel-powered equipment and machinery. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, performing scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, and ensuring the safe and reliable performance of our equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including troubleshooting and resolving mechanical and electrical issues
- Perform scheduled maintenance on diesel-powered equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems associated with diesel-powered equipment
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and machinery
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs and maintenance activities
- Collaborate with the operations team to identify and address equipment-related issues
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Maintenance Technician, with a strong understanding of diesel engine systems and repair procedures
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment for diesel-powered machinery
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Working Conditions:
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will primarily work in a workshop or garage environment, using specialized tools and equipment. You may be required to lift and maneuver heavy machinery and equipment, and you may be exposed to noise, vibrations, and other potential hazards associated with the repair and maintenance of diesel-powered equipment.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive hourly rate of $30 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
