Job summary

R+L Carriers is hiring a Diesel Mechanic at our Kansas City, KS Service Center for a full-time role with Monday - Friday shifts. You will perform day-to-day maintenance on fleet equipment, including preventive maintenance and repairs to Class 8 trucks and trailers.

Some locations may include forklifts and welding tasks. Ideal candidates have experience in diesel engine maintenance, can handle major repairs, and are capable of lifting 50 lbs with their own tools.

• Experience with AC and Electrical.
• Have the ability to lift 50lbs.
• Must have own tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day equipment maintenance on fleet, including preventative maintenance and repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and forklifts (location dependent).
• Carry out minor to major repairs as needed.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and welding where applicable.

Job Description

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Kansas City, KS Service Center. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet equipment consisting of preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. This can include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, welding depending on location.

Requirements

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
• Must be able to handle major repairs
• Experience with AC and Electrical
• Have the ability to lift 50lbs
• Must have own tools

Preferred

• 2+ Years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred
• Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines
• Experience using Cetaris used for work orders
• Class A CDL holder
• Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks
• Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs
