Bark and Mane Mobile Pet Grooming in Houston, TX is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain a fleet of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans (2017-2025). This part-time role focuses on routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to engines and mechanical systems.

The ideal candidate has diesel experience, can perform preventative maintenance and diagnose issues, and helps keep our fleet safe and efficient. Training, flexible scheduling, and a supportive team are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience working on diesel-powered vehicles.
• Experience with Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans preferred.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance and basic mechanical repairs independently.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, and emissions systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic scan tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil and filter changes on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter diesel vans.
• Inspect and maintain engine, cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems.
• Check and top off fluids including engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and DEF.
• Perform preventative maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engine performance issues.
• Inspect brakes, suspension, steering, and drivetrain components.
• Perform vehicle safety inspections and identify repair needs.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot fault codes.
• Maintain accurate service records and maintenance logs.
• Coordinate major repairs with outside vendors when necessary.

Job Description

Bark and Mane is seeking a dependable Diesel Mechanic to maintain our fleet of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans (2017-2025 models). This position is focused on routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs related to the vehicle's engine, drivetrain, and supporting mechanical systems.

The ideal candidate has experience working on diesel vehicles, can perform preventative maintenance, diagnose common mechanical issues, and help keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil and filter changes on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter diesel vans
• Inspect and maintain engine, cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems
• Check and top off fluids including engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and DEF
• Perform preventative maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations
• Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engine performance issues
• Inspect and replace filters, batteries, belts, hoses, and other wear items as needed
• Inspect brakes, suspension, steering, and drivetrain components
• Perform vehicle safety inspections and identify repair needs
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot fault codes
• Maintain accurate service records and maintenance logs
• Coordinate major repairs with outside vendors when necessary

Experience

• Diesel Mechanic: 1 - 4 years experience preferred
• Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Maintenance: Preferred but not required

License/Certification

• Diesel Mechanic Certification (Preferred)
• Valid Driver's License (Required)
