Transdev in Houston, TX seeks an experienced Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain diesel engines across a range of vehicles and equipment. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency and longevity of the fleet.

Expect a competitive hourly wage ($27.58–$41.93) with potential ASE certification bonuses. Training, ASE testing coverage, and tool reimbursement are provided. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and pass pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Valid driver's license with 3 years of driving experience.
• ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
• DOT drug testing may apply.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
• Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components.
• Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and determine repair strategies.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling components.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.

Diesel Mechanic

Transdev in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Transdev is proud to offer:

$27.58 - $41.93 depending on experience and certifications (techs can earn up to an additional $3.15/hr. with ASE certifications)

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
• Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Valid driver's license with 3 years of driving experience
• ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided
• Mechanic’s Tool Set
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
• Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
