Swift Transportation Company in Gary, IN is hiring skilled Diesel Mechanics & Technicians. Located at 6500 W Airport Rd, Gary, IN 46406, the position offers Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM with $23.00–$30.00 per hour plus overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Diesel maintenance knowledge preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read repair manuals and maintenance documentation.
• Basic computer proficiency expected.
• Willingness to learn diagnostic software and new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
• Complete repairs according to OEM, DOT, and company standards.
• Disassemble and rebuild heavy truck and trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance, repairs, inspections, and failure analysis.
• Accurately complete repair orders and maintenance documentation.

What You'll Do

As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a critical role in keeping our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment
