Job summary

DRYCO Construction, Inc. in Fremont, CA is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This full-time position offers a salary ranging from $65,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience, with hours 8 am–4:30 pm and potential overtime.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing gas and diesel equipment such as light trucks, loaders, trailers, pavers, rollers, backhoes, and more. A High School diploma/GED and 3+ years in diesel/heavy equipment maintenance are required; Class A

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license (Class A preferred) and clean driving record.
• 3+ years' experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel and medium fleet vehicles.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, chassis and power-train systems.
• Knowledge of industrial shop safety rules and equipment.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment for testing.
• Computer experience entering data and work orders for parts.
• Must adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
• Course work in a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic program.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair gas and diesel equipment including light trucks, loaders, trailers, pavers, rollers, backhoes, skid steers, skip loaders.
• Troubleshoot and repair fuel, hydraulic, lighting, and ABS brake systems; repair power-train components.
• Welding and fabrication as needed.
• Make emergency field repairs safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose and repair power tools.
• Perform basic maintenance on small engines.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and stand for long periods.
• Operate and test equipment to verify proper operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary: $65K through $90K ($30 - $40 an hour), depending on experience

Essential Job Duties:

• Diagnose and repair all types of gas and diesel equipment, including, but not limited to: light trucks, wheel loaders, trailers and various ancillary equipment, 10 wheelers, pavers, rollers, backhoes, skid steers & skip Loaders.
• Trouble-shoot, repair and replace fuel systems, hydraulic systems, lighting systems, computer control systems, and ABS brake systems
• Welding & Fabrication preferred
• Make emergency field repairs to all equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Diagnose and repair a variety of power tools.
• Basic maintenance on small engines
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and be on feet all day
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Must possess a valid driver license,Class A preferred,and a safe driving record
• 3+ years’ experience in maintenance and repair of heavy-duty diesel and medium fleet automotive
• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, chassis, and power-train systems
• Knowledge of industrial shop safety rules, procedures, and equipment
• Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment to test and trouble-shoot for proper operation before and after maintenance
• Computer experience entering data and work orders for purchasing parts
• Must adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State and Federal regulations
• Course work in a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic training program.
