Job summary

Crete Carrier Corporation seeks a skilled diesel technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair systems on tractors, trailers, and refrigeration equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, document work, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

The role requires ASE certified and DOT inspection readiness, with tools of your own and a CDL Class A preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 1–2 years of related experience.
• Ase and DOT inspections certifications as required.
• CDL Class A preferred.
• Must have own tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose brake systems and engines
• Repair electrical components and steering systems
• Service transmissions, drive trains, and tires for tractors and trailers
• Perform preventative maintenance such as oil changes and fluid checks
• Maintain positive working relationships and follow supervisor instructions
• Maintain attendance and perform other duties as assigned

Job description

Role and Responsibilities

• Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions, drive trains, and tires for tractors, trailers, and refrigeration equipment
• Performs preventative maintenance services, including changing oil, checking fluids, inspecting batteries, testing lights, and lubricating equipment
• Establishes and maintains positive working relationships
• Receives and carries out instructions
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Associate degree; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
• Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100lbs.
• Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed
• Good vision to inspect repair work
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections

Certificates, Licences, and Registrations

ASE certified and DOT inspection certified as required by supervisor

EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 609 as required by supervisor and/or location

EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 608 as required by supervisor and/or location

Valid driver's license as required by supervisor, with CDL Class A driver's license preferred
