Job summary

Coulter Services seeks a heavy-duty diesel truck technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and rebuild company-owned trucks and equipment, ensuring safe operation and reliability.

The role requires experience with diesel engines and electrical diagnostics, plus familiarity with Mack, Cummins, and Allison software. ASE certification is supported with pay increases upon certification. On-site work in Columbia, SC with benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical diagnostics.
• Familiarity with Mack, Cummins, and Allison diagnostic software is preferred.
• ASE testing supported and paid increases upon certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose, and repair diesel refuse trucks and related components (hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension, PTO).
• Complete preventative maintenance to keep fleet vehicles operational.
• Ensure safety and reliability of fleet through thorough troubleshooting and repairs.

Job description

Role: Heavy-duty diesel truck technician responsible for safely operating, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining company-owned or leased trucks and equipment to ensure safe operation.

• Perform daily inspections, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair diesel refuse trucks and their components, including hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension, and PTO systems.
• Complete preventative maintenance to keep fleet vehicles operational.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience with engines, transmissions, electrical diagnostics, and familiarity with Mack, Cummins, and Allison diagnostic software.
• Knowledge of mechanical repairs and troubleshooting.
• ASE testing is supported and rewarded with pay increases upon certification.

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting pay ranges from $27-$35/hr, with higher pay based on experience and certifications.
• Benefits include PTO, monthly tool allowance, boot reimbursement, overtime pay, health benefits, and 401K.
