A Diesel Mechanic is responsible for safely operating, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining heavy-duty diesel trucks and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with heavy-duty diesel trucks, CNG, gas, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, overhauls, and major repairs.
• Manage work orders, track repairs, order parts, and schedule jobs using maintenance management systems.
• Maintain safety standards, comply with regulations, and use appropriate tools.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum one year of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic.
• High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school preferred.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and software; capable of learning new systems.
• Owns and maintains a set of tools for heavy equipment maintenance.
• Reliable, independent problem solver with a strong safety focus.
• Physical ability to operate equipment and perform heavy vehicle maintenance tasks.
