Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

LPS Equipment & Acquisition LLC is looking to hire a Mechanic to perform a variety of preventative maintenance tasks on our trucking fleet and trailers. While we prefer someone who has a certificate or technical training in mechanics and truck repair, we are willing to work with any mechanical professional that has knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems. Welding or fabrication experience is also a plus, as these techniques often come in handy when making repairs on trailers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Diagnose issues in semi-trucks and tractor-trailers
  2. Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers
  3. Test equipment and systems for performance
  4. Perform repairs to brakes and electrical systems
  5. Document repairs
  6. Troubleshooting skills
  7. Use DOT inspections to check tractors, trailers, and other vehicles for safety and compliance
  8. Replace parts, valves, bearings and gears as needed
  9. Perform routine maintenance on trucks, such as checking batteries and changing oil to ensure proper vehicle running
Qualifications and Requirements
  1. Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems preferred
  2. Experience with various hand tools
  3. Valid driver's license
  4. Physical strength and stamina
  5. Welding or fabrication experience (preferred)
  6. High school diploma or GED certificate
  7. Class A CDL preferred
  8. Must be comfortable with working in awkward positions or cramped spaces
  9. Three years of experience working as a mechanic required, four years preferred
  10. Critical thinking, analysis, and evaluation abilities
