Job summary

A logistics and shipping company located in Georgia is seeking a candidate for a mechanical maintenance role. Qualifications

  • Basic set of mechanics hand tools up to 1 1/2” wrenches, sockets, metric and standard required.
  • Must obtain and maintain TWIC credential.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all types of heavy equipment.
  • Assist with facilities maintenance as needed.
  • Shift: Monday-Saturday, 6:00 am-3:30 pm or 2:00 pm-10:30 pm.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all types of heavy equipment (Forklift & Rail Loaders)
  • Hydraulic Experience
  • Assist with facilities maintenance as needed (IE car wash sewage lift repair, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Shift: Monday-Saturday 6:00am-3:30pm or 2:00pm-10:30pm with the possibility of overtime/and or weekend as instructed based on business needs.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • 1+ year of mechanical and/or maintenance experience
  • Basic set of mechanics hand tools at least up to 1 1/2” wrenches, sockets, metric, and standard
  • Obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Badge) issued by the Department of Homeland Security
Preferred Requirements
  • Must have demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Experience using software applications that support the department’s operations.
  • Must be certified in forklift mechanical skills
Physical Working Attributes
  • Climb up and down on equipment and ladders.
  • Exposed to all outdoor elements including heat, cold, rain, insects, and other conditions which may exist from time to time.
  • Work in an environment that may be hazardous to people unable to see and hear fast-moving equipment.
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Lift, push, and or pull up to 50lbs.
