Job summary

JRayl Transport, Inc. seeks a skilled technician to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and various system failures on heavy‑duty vehicles. You will discuss issues with drivers and use hydraulic jacks to access and replace assemblies such as brakes and axles.

Proficiency with electronic diagnostic tools for ABS, tire systems, and SkyBitz locating tech is required; welding/minor fabrication skills are preferred. A High School diploma or better is expected, with DOT compliance knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must have ASE electrical certification and be skilled in air brake systems.
• Experience repairing Wabco, Meritor and Bendix ABS.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• High school diploma or better.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnoses failures and makes repairs on mechanical, electrical, or other various systems on a vehicle.
• May discuss the nature of the difficulty with the driver(s).
• Uses hydraulic jacks or hoist, to gain access to the underside of the unit and to aid in the removal or replacement of assemblies such as Brakes, wheel seals, axle assemblies, roof bows, roof and side wall patches, air springs, etc.
• Uses electronic diagnostic tools and computer software to assist in the troubleshooting and repair of heavy-duty ABS systems, self-inflating tire systems, trailer SkyBitz locating system
• Welding and minor fabrication skills are preferred.
