Job summary

Patriot is seeking a Diesel Locomotive Mechanic to inspect and maintain diesel locomotives and passenger rail cars in compliance with FRA regulations and company standards.

You will diagnose engine malfunctions, perform routine servicing, and replace components such as wheels, traction motors, and air systems. Candidates must meet physical demands and pass a drug screen before starting.

Qualifications

• EMD locomotive experience is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied spaces.
• Ability to read gauges, schematics, and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain diesel locomotives and passenger rail cars.
• Diagnose engine malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Replace locomotive components including wheels, traction motors, and gear assemblies.
• Perform daily and periodic inspections per FRA regulations.
• Adhere to safety and hazardous waste handling procedures.
