Job summary

Green Expert Technology (GreenXT) seeks a Diesel Lifecycle Engineering Representative to support the US Navy fleet concentration in San Diego, CA. You will review shipboard diesel engine history, analyze performance data, and coordinate maintenance strategies with Navy crews.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of Navy diesel experience, DMS/DRS familiarity, and strong metrics presentation skills. A DoD Secret clearance is required or obtainable. Proficiency with SAMM/DEPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance required or ability to obtain.
• Minimum 8 years of US Navy Engineman or Machinist Mate with diesel background.
• Minimum 4 years with DMS (Diesel Maintenance Strategy) and DRS (Diesel Readiness System).
• Experience on major engine types used on US Navy ships for propulsion/power generation.
• Familiarity with Shipboard Automated Maintenance Manager (SAMM).
• DEI certification is a plus; Top Snipe on LSD/LPD/LCS platform is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Review monthly Doctor Diesel engine combustion analysis messages.
• Review diesel engine machinery operating conditions, logistics and repair issues, and electrical and control related issues.
• Attend conferences associated with Diesel Maintenance Strategy (DMS).
• Assist the Technical Program Manager with developing and presenting metrics.
• Develop Baseline Availability Work Packages (BAWP).
• Deck plate training of US Navy crews in DMS and DRS.
• Research and present technical inputs for Diesel Technical Directives.

• Review of diesel engine machinery operating conditions, logistics and repair issues, and electrical and control related issues
• Attend various conferences associated with Diesel Maintenance Strategy (DMS)
• Assist the Technical Program Manager with:
• Developing and presenting metrics and presentations to display and present the afore mentioned data review
• The development of Baseline Availability Work Packages (BAWP)
• Deck plate training of US Navy crews in the use and importance of DMS and DRS
• Research and presentation of technical inputs for preparation of Diesel Technical Directives

Requirements

• H.S Diploma or GED
• Active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain this clearance upon position acceptance) is required for this position
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a US Navy Engineman, a US Navy Machinist Mate with diesel background, or commercial OEM technical service representative
• Minimum of 4 years of practical experience with DMS (Diesel Maintenance Strategy) and DRS (Diesel Readiness System)
• Minimum 4 years of experience on the major engine types used on US Navy ships for propulsion/ power generation (FM opposed piston, Colt 2.5 and PA6B, CAT 3608), previous experience can be focused on one of the afore mentioned engines or can be a culmination of experience on numerous types of large, medium speed engines
• Working familiarity with Shipboard Automated Maintenance Manager (SAMM), Diesel Engine Performance Analysis (DEPA) data collection, review, and analysis
• US Navy DEI certified or previously certified is a plus for this position
• US Navy Top Snipe on LSD/LPD/LCS platform is a plus for this position
• Experience with Microsoft suite of products is a plus for this position
• Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
• Ability to work on and climb ladders, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
