Job summary

The Taylor Group Inc in San Antonio, TX is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic for SSI-San Antonio. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines and hydraulics, using diagnostic tools and blueprints to ensure fleet readiness.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, records keeping, and collaboration with the parts team. A welding test readiness and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required; vocational training and hands-on experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Stooping, bending, climbing and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must read and interpret blueprints and other technical material.
• Industrial painting experience.
• Welding test readiness encouraged (AWSD14).

Responsibilities

• Inspect lift trucks and equipment to determine repairs.
• Perform repairs on gasoline, diesel, and propane engines with minimal instruction.
• Inspect, adjust and repair components as needed.
• Repair cooling, fuel, electrical, and exhaust systems using diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance to improve fleet performance.
• Operate equipment to troubleshoot and test equipment as needed.
• Maintain records of maintenance performed.
• Assist parts department in shipping and receiving of motor freight.
• Takes service calls and provides assistance when the Service Manager is unavailable.
• Cleans and maintains garage area as needed.
• Other related duties as required.
