Job summary

Woodstock Power Company in Philadelphia, PA seeks an experienced Diesel Generator Technician to diagnose, repair, and service industrial diesel generators in both shop and field environments. Candidates must have hands-on generator experience and knowledge of control systems such as PowerCommand and Deep Sea.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting electrical/mechanical issues, reading schematics, and performing load bank testing.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on diesel generator repair and maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and industrial power systems.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components.
• Ability to diagnose failures and perform repairs independently.
• Familiarity with generator controllers such as PowerCommand and Deep Sea.
• Experience with load bank testing and preventative maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair industrial diesel generators.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on generator systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues.
• Repair generator control panels, voltage regulators, alternators, and starting systems.
• Conduct load bank testing to verify performance.
• Identify and resolve faults, alarms, and shutdown conditions.
• Read schematics and manuals to support repairs.
• Service equipment from brands such as Caterpillar, Cummins, Kohler, Generac, Detroit Diesel.
• Document repairs and recommendations in service reports.
• Work in both shop and field environments; maintain safety and organization.
