Advantage Technical is seeking a Diesel Generator Mechanic to join the field service team in Childress, TX. The role involves diagnosing and repairing diesel generators, performing startups and testing, and providing maintenance in industrial, construction, manufacturing, and emergency response environments.

The position offers 10-12 hour shifts, competitive hourly pay ranging from $30.00 to $45.00 per hour, plus per diem and free housing on ongoing projects.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of diesel engine, generator, heavy equipment, or power generation experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience reading wiring diagrams and using diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel generators and power generation equipment.
• Troubleshoot engine, electrical, fuel, cooling, and control system issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Conduct generator startups, commissioning, and operational testing.
• Complete load bank testing and document performance results.
• Respond to emergency service calls and minimize equipment downtime.
• Read electrical schematics and use diagnostic testing equipment.
• Complete detailed service reports and maintenance records.
• Maintain service vehicle inventory, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment status.
