Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Fueler Service Technician in St. Charles, IL to support fuel operations and vehicle maintenance. You will fuel vehicles, inspect units, manage fuel inventory, and keep a clean, safe work area in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits after 30 days, and opportunities for career growth within a logistics powerhouse. Valid CDL is preferred but not mandatory, with training and safety programs provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Up to one year of experience preferred or no experience required.
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated customer service skills; understand customer communication.
• Basic computer skills and ability to perform data entry.

Responsibilities

• Fuel vehicles.
• Wash and detail vehicles; move heavy duty vehicles.
• Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units; check tire pressure and report issues.
• Record fuel activity and maintain inventories.
• Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards.
• Perform some facility maintenance and minor repairs as assigned.
• Change tires.
• Inspect refrigeration units on trucks.
• Empty trash.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday
• Hours: First Shift Tuesday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm Saturday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Up to one (1) year of experience preferred /no experience required
• Proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated customer service skills; must be able to understand customer's verbal communication
• Understanding of computer hardware and software, especially word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Must be able to read and understand codes and instructions on the computer; must have basic computer skills and ability to perform data entryMust be 18 years of age or older
• High degree of thoroughness and dependability; must be able to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends,and holidays; must be able to work at different locations
• Ability to:
• Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors)
