Job summary
Bob's Discount Furniture is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to maintain our Freightliner truck fleet and trailers. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and emergency repairs, including welding and tire service, while ensuring compliance and documentation.
The role requires strong knowledge of heavy trucks, air brakes, and diesel engines. The position offers competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package, with opportunities for growth, training, and career
Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of transportation equipment: maintenance and operation requirements.
- Must be certifiable and proficient in Air Brake systems.
- Solid welding proficiency with MIG and Stick.
- Experience with diesel engines, heavy trucks and trailers.
- Ability to read and write and follow detailed instructions.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance and diagnostics on fleet vehicles.
- Execute emergency repairs as reported by drivers and inspections.
- Weld for cutting, brazing, and fabricating as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and document parts use and repairs.
- Order replacement parts and advise on safety concerns.
- Assist with tire changes and wheel servicing as needed.
