Job summary

Chaney Enterprises is seeking a Full Time Technical Mechanic in Chesapeake, VA to repair and maintain a diverse fleet across shop and field settings. You will diagnose failures, perform repairs, and coordinate preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires experience with diesel engines, a valid driver's license, and solid communication and basic math and computer skills. Travel to plant sites and road-call locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing diesel engines.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Basic mathematical skills for measurements, parts, and repair documentation.
• Basic computer knowledge with ability to learn company software.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, and ensure operational readiness of diesel trucks and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and schedule with management.
• Ensure parts and supplies are available for repairs.
• Complete work orders and documentation accurately and promptly.
• Operate shop vehicles safely and wear PPE; report safety concerns.
• Comply with environmental and safety regulations; participate in recycling.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment on schedule and take corrective action.
