Ridge Road Express is hiring a fleet mechanic in New York to perform diesel engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs on large commercial vehicles. You will conduct preventive maintenance, diagnose defects, and perform emergency roadside services when needed.

Accreditation in a diesel program is required; CDL is preferred but not mandatory. Work typically Monday–Friday, 40 hours with potential overtime; background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Diesel engine troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with diesel engine electrical systems preferred.
• CDL preferred but not required; must obtain CDL if not licensed.

Responsabilités

• Perform thorough, preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Complete lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation per schedule.
• Under supervision, perform unscheduled maintenance as needed.
• Repair engines, electrical, fuel, brake and exhaust systems; perform field tests with drawings and specs.
• Provide emergency roadside services as needed.
• Inspect equipment, diagnose defects and document repairs on work orders.
• Maintain tools and work areas in neat, orderly condition.
• Occasionally drive vans/buses and perform road tests; on-call may be required.
