Job summary

Oakhurst Dairy in Portland, Maine seeks a diesel technician/truck and trailer mechanic to join a small, locally managed team. The role focuses on diagnostics, PMs, and repairs across a Freightliner/Trailer fleet, with some fabrication and on-road support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred or three years of relevant experience.
• CDL License (Oakhurst will fund acquisition if necessary).
• Maine Inspection License required (Will support/train to acquire).
• Strong ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Typical personal hand tools – shared shop tools for larger equipment.
• Good written communication to properly complete work orders and DVIR processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting, PMs and fabrication to all types of equipment in our fleet.
• Maintain or repair vehicle systems such as brakes, suspension, air and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot all truck and engine diagnostics including electrical and emissions issues.
• Service and repair diesel refrigeration units on trucks and trailers.
• Perform some fabrication and final setup/commissioning of new vehicles.
• Occasionally respond to road calls in our service truck as necessary.
