Job summary

Oakhurst Dairy in Portland, Maine is seeking a diesel technician / truck and trailer mechanic to join a small, locally managed team. Our fleet includes Freightliner, Great Dane trailers and Carrier refrigeration equipment.

The role involves diagnostics, PMs, and fabrication to keep the fleet safe and reliable. We look for a CDL license and Maine inspection license (or a plan to obtain) and strong troubleshooting and communication skills for work orders.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED or three years of relevant experience.
CDL License and Maine Inspection License required or will be funded/trained.
Strong ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
Basic hand tools; shared shop tools for larger equipment.
Good written communication for work orders and DVIR.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic troubleshooting, PM’s and fabrication to all types of equipment in our fleet.
Maintain or repair the typical vehicle systems such as brakes, suspension, air and hydraulic systems.
Troubleshoot all elements related truck and engine diagnostics including electrical and emissions issues.
Service and repair diesel refrigeration units on trucks and trailers.
Perform some fabrication and final setup / commissioning of new vehicles.
Occasionally respond to road calls in our service truck as necessary.
