Job summary

Oakhurst Dairy in Portland, Maine, is seeking a diesel technician / truck and trailer mechanic to join a small locally managed team.

You will diagnose, repair and maintain a fleet of Freightliner/Great Dane equipment, including diesel refrigeration units, and participate in installations for new vehicles. A supportive manager with 30+ years of experience leads the hands-on growth and safety program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred or three years of relevant experience.
• Maine Inspection License required (will train/acquire).
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting, PM’s and fabrication to all types of equipment in our fleet.
• Maintain or repair brakes, suspension, air and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot truck and engine diagnostics including electrical and emissions issues.
• Service and repair diesel refrigeration units on trucks and trailers.
• Fabrication and final setup/commissioning of new vehicles.
• Occasionally respond to road calls in the service truck.
