Job summary

Pilgrim's in Mount Pleasant, Texas is hiring a Diesel/Vehicle Mechanic to maintain diesel and fleet vehicles. The role involves inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, adjustments, alignments, and accurate recordkeeping to keep operations safe and reliable.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, system overhauls, and ensuring compliance with safety and emissions standards. Candidates should have a valid license, own tools, and experience with CMMS for maintenance tracking.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License in good standing; must possess own tools.
• Diesel/vehicle repair and diagnostics experience required.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines; knowledge of gasoline engines for mixed fleets.
• Proficiency in electrical, brake, suspension/steering, transmission/drivetrain, cooling and HVAC systems; familiarity with CMMS.
• Ability to communicate with supervisors, customers, and other technicians; write repair orders.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle issues by inspections, tests, and identifying worn or damaged parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, system overhauls, alignments, and upgrades across major vehicle systems.
• Ensure compliance and performance through tests and adherence to safety standards.
• Maintain documentation by recording repairs, managing inventory, and coordinating repairs.
• Support department goals by controlling costs, staying current through training, and adding value to operations.
