Clean Harbors in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on the fleet. You will uphold safety standards, move equipment around the yard, assist drivers with vehicle issues, and carry out routine maintenance.

The role requires 1+ year of experience with heavy-duty trucks, DOT inspections, and the ability to provide basic tools. Training and certifications may be available, with opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years experience working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience required.
• Must provide own basic tools.
• Related mechanical certifications preferred (not required).
• Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test on hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety as a top priority by following all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Move company equipment safely on yard as needed.
• Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.
• Complete daily checklist as required.
• Ensure equipment is properly parked/secured per facility permit and DOT requirements.
• Maintain facility via housekeeping duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
