Job summary

The mechanic will perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems, and ensure DOT inspections are completed for roadworthiness. Physical activity and safety adherence are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of relevant work experience.
• Clean driving record, no DUIs in the last 5 years.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Performs annual inspections on trucks, trailers, and pickups.
• Repairs and maintains engines and diesel engines using hand and machine tools.
• Inspects and repairs electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems.
• Performs all DOT inspections to ensure fleet is roadworthy.
• Interprets failure modes using vehicle computer systems to guide repairs.
• Estimates repair times and requisitions parts.
• Performs work within standard repair times.
• Responds to emergency breakdown service calls.
• Conducts safety checks and removes unsafe vehicles from service.
• Documents parts usage, repair times, and DOT reporting.
