Job summary

US Foods in St. Louis is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel fleet equipment, including tractors, trailers, and lift gates, in our maintenance facility.

The role requires at least 1 year of hands-on experience, the ability to read and write, and basic math skills. Schedule is 3rd shift: Sun–Thu 10PM–6AM with weekends off. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
• Must furnish own personal hand tools.
• Able to read and write legibly; basic mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).
• Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs.
• Utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to document equipment repair and parts used.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines.
• Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
