Meadow Gold is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic in Colorado to perform routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet, diagnose problems, and identify root causes of failures in compliance with DOT and DFA standards.

The role offers competitive pay and career growth opportunities within the Meadow Gold brand of Dairy Farmers of America. Shift: Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:30pm, with potential for overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with INSITE, DL and NAVSTAR service tools preferred.
• Experience with FWHA / BIT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintain, inspect, and replace brakes, steering, springs, tires and related components.
• Use shop management system and electronic systems.
• Diagnose minor mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Identify root causes of minor failures and perform repairs.
• Interact with drivers to understand the nature of complaints.
• Follow safety, DOT and company compliance guidelines.

Job description

Meadow Gold has immediate job openings for a skilled Fleet Maintenance Mechanicto perform routine maintenance and repair services on different types of fleet vehicles under DOT and company regulations. In this role, the person will also perform preventive fleet maintenance and diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic systems to identify root causes of fluctuating failures/conditions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle and preventive maintenance, component replacements, and minor repairs
• Maintain, repair, inspect, and/or replace brakes, steering mechanisms, springs, air bags, lights, air conditioners, water, fuel, oil, air filters, coolant and chemicals, transmissions, tire air pressure, tire tread, tires, chassis, drive lines, u-joints, air tanks, batteries, air lines, power cords, wipers, mirrors, drive train components, or other equipment as necessary
• Use shop management system and other electronic systems available
• Diagnose minor mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable
• Identify root cause of “minor” failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
• Interact with drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
• Work in accordance with all federal, state, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT)
• Complete work orders and paperwork in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining high quality standards in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
• Respond to accidents or inoperable vehicles to transport equipment back to shop for repair, if appropriate
• Keep management informed of safety, operator, and equipment observations and concerns
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes, utilizing continuous improvement mindset
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area which may include wearing of all required personal protective equipment in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Preferred experience with INSITE, DL and NAVSTAR service tools
• Experience with FWHA / BIT requirements.
• Experienced with brake systems or certified with BENDIX /WABCO.
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach and crawl and possibly sit for virtually the entire shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others
• Must be able to work in a dusty, greasy environment, with moderate noise and cold and hot temperature ranges
• Must be able to follow all required work safe practices
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays
