Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and fire trucks in Sumner, WA. You will handle engine, electrical, brakes, and hydraulics with a focus on preventive maintenance and accurate record-keeping.

The role requires 5–10 years in diesel mechanics, strong diagnostic skills, and proficiency with tools and manuals. CDL with air brakes and EVT certifications are a plus. Onsite work with a day shift and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years experience in mechanics, preferably diesel.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools.
• Knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, electrical, and brakes.
• Ability to read manuals and schematics.
• Detail-oriented with good time management.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel and fire trucks, including engines, electricals, brakes, and hydraulics.
• Perform routine maintenance: fluids, filters, inspections.
• Repair or replace damaged parts per manufacturer specs.
• Collaborate to troubleshoot complex issues and develop solutions.
• Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies.
• Prepare safety documentation and inspections.
