Job summary

Rural King is seeking an experienced Mechanic II to diagnose, service, and repair diesel-powered equipment in our in-store repair operation. You’ll handle tractors, mowing equipment, UTVs, and forklifts while managing work orders, parts, warranty claims, and customer communication.

You’ll apply advanced troubleshooting and repair skills across diesel, electrical, hydraulic, and A/C systems, using diagnostic tools and manuals to ensure high-quality service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of diesel repair experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Advanced mechanical skills with diesel, electrical, hydraulic, and A/C systems.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment, multimeters, manuals, schematics, and service tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based systems.
• CRM software, handheld devices, or barcode scanning experience.
• EPA 609 certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain diesel engines, small engines, tractors, mowing equipment, UTVs, and forklifts.
• Perform preventative maintenance and advanced service on customer and company-owned equipment.
• Manage repair work orders from intake to completion, including parts ordering and warranty claims.
• Use diagnostic tools, diagrams, and manuals to identify issues and complete repairs.
• Document work progress, outcomes, and recommended next steps.
• Communicate repair recommendations and maintenance information to customers.
• Assist with equipment sales and customer education as needed.
