Job summary

TexPro Equipment dba EQUIPRO in the Dallas–Fort Worth area is seeking a mid-level Service Technician / Equipment Mechanic to diagnose problems, perform repairs, and rapidly become productive in our shop. You should be comfortable troubleshooting mechanical equipment and engines and have solid diesel-engine fundamentals.

This role offers exposure to many manufacturers and growth into field service as skills develop.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of diesel-engine fundamentals.
• Hands-on mechanical repair and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems logically and read service manuals and technical information.
• Ability to work independently on common repairs and collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment problems rather than simply replacing parts.
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, fuel systems, starting and charging systems, and mechanical failures.
• Perform maintenance and mechanical repairs.
• Identify failed components and determine the appropriate repair.
• Use service manuals, wiring diagrams, parts diagrams and manufacturer technical information.
• Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation.
• Document diagnoses, repairs performed and parts required.
• Work independently on familiar repairs and collaborate with senior technicians on more complex problems.
• Learn the equipment, manufacturers and systems used in our industry.
