Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting and repairing compact construction equipment (e.g., trench rollers, generators, compactors, compressors).
• Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines, including diagnostics, basic electrical systems, and hydraulic components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, schematics, and OEM repair procedures.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and proper shop safety practices.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and explaining technical issues to customers.
• High attention to detail in documenting service work, maintaining records, and following quality standards.
• Prior experience in an equipment repair or service center environment; OEM-certified training is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanics or related field preferred.
• Ability to lift and move equipment and parts as required and to work in a shop environment with variable conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, with the ability to travel locally if field service is required.

Role Description

The Service Technician II is a full-time, on-site role based in Texas, United States, responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on compact construction equipment. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting equipment, identifying mechanical and electrical issues, completing OEM-certified repairs, and documenting work performed in accordance with company and manufacturer standards. The role involves ordering and installing parts, testing equipment to verify proper operation, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The Service Technician II will communicate with service advisors, parts personnel, and customers to provide clear updates on repair status and recommendations.
