Job summary

Boyd Company in Lexington seeks a Diesel Heavy Equipment Student Technician Apprentice. The program blends classroom training, online coursework, and hands-on work to develop technicians along Boyd’s Career Development Path.

After 4 weeks in the Louisville Training Center, you rotate to a hosting Boyd location for a total of 8 weeks of classroom instruction and 4 weeks of paid internship. Compensation is up to $24.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
• Willingness to learn and be trained in heavy equipment.
• Ability to communicate with team members and customers.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read and interpret technical instruction, service manuals and procedures.
• Work with mechanical, hydraulic, and electric/electronic schematics and use test equipment.
• Maintain high academic standards and professional conduct.
• Follow safety rules and support continuous improvement.
