Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) to perform maintenance and minor repairs on rental equipment in a safe, professional manner. You will document work orders daily, demonstrate complex equipment to customers, and assist with pickup/delivery of gear.

6N0005 branch operations and service department support the role. The position emphasizes teamwork, superior customer service, and the ability to lift up to 45 lbs, with eligibility for advancement within the service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 1–2 years experience repairing/maintaining vehicles or equipment.
• Own tools applicable to position.
• Basic understanding of schematics/diagrams.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
