Job summary

Thompson Machinery is seeking a skilled Mechanic – Component Specialist to diagnose and repair diesel engines and hydraulic systems in our Memphis service shop. You will work largely independently or with guidance from service mentors, serving customers in the shop and supporting ongoing maintenance and repairs.

The role requires hands-on experience with diesel powered equipment, the ability to read technical manuals and schematics, and a strong focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Diesel engine or heavy equipment troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Proficient reading of manuals, schematics and safety procedures.
• Strong customer service and professionalism in service work.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical instructions, manuals and policies.
• Work with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical schematics and test equipment.
• Perform high quality repairs on equipment and engines and respond to customer needs.
