Job summary

Rush Enterprises, Inc is seeking a Service Technician to provide on-site vehicle service and maintenance, including diagnosis, repair, and overhaul of gas and diesel engines. The role emphasizes customer service and adherence to safety procedures across trucks and components.

The candidate should have a High School diploma or GED, 2 years of Class 7 & 8 technician experience, and a valid driver’s license; CDL and Medical card are preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier.
• Current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVS preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Read job order, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
• Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and make adjustments as needed.
• Tag all warranty parts and returns to warranty clerk.
• Attend training classes and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction.
