Job summary

Rush Truck Centers, part of Rush Enterprises, Inc, is hiring for a skilled diesel/heavy truck technician in the Dallas area. You will diagnose, repair, and overhaul engines and components in a fast-paced dealership setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience as Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• CDL and Medical card preferred but not required; FMVSS knowledge a plus.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins and/or ASE certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, brakes, batteries, and transmissions.
• Read job orders and inspect vehicles to plan work procedures.
• Ensure safety devices are functional and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate parts and test drive to confirm conformance to specs.
• Log warranty parts and attend training to keep updated.
