Job summary

Excel Truck Group in Charlotte, NC is seeking experienced diesel mechanics with strong diagnostic skills to join our team. You will work with Freightliner brands, perform regular maintenance and complex repairs, and have opportunities to advance into leadership roles as we grow.

We offer industry leading pay from $55,000 to $90,000 per year based on experience, comprehensive benefits, paid training, a strong tools/equipment environment, and stability from a long‑standing, family‑owned dealer

Qualifications

Experience as a diesel truck mechanic with strong diagnostic skills.
Certifications are a plus and can increase wages.
Experience with Freightliner, Mack, Sterling, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, and/or Cummins ideal but not required.
Completion of a Diesel technician school and certification desired.

Responsibilities

Diagnoses mechanical problems; able to handle regular maintenance, light and heavy repairs for Trucks.
Performs scheduled maintenance.
Ideally certified to perform State Inspections and CDL.
Welds equipment as needed.
Prepares shop work orders on equipment repair.
Computer experience with a working knowledge of CDK ideal but not required.
Cleans shop and surrounding work areas.
Promotes cooperation and teamwork.
Willing to train and maintain certifications necessary as ongoing technician training and development.
