Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in Morenci, AZ seeks a Diesel Diagnostic Mechanic II for mine maintenance. You will perform routine and non-routine maintenance, repair and troubleshoot pumps, conveyors, gearboxes and related equipment while applying safe, compliant practices.

Requirements include four years of mechanical maintenance experience and basic welding skills. You will process work orders, order parts, train coworkers, and support safety programs.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years' experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts or equivalent.
• Completion of academic and practical competencies and pass required written assessment.
• Must demonstrate proficient basic welding skills.
• Ability to apply knowledge safely and effectively in mechanical maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance activities with increased complexity.
• Complete Work Orders, order parts, and maintain maintenance documentation.
• Repair, install, fabricate, rebuild, troubleshoot and perform lubrication of process equipment (pumps, conveyors, dryers, gearboxes, filters).
• Operate and be competent with cranes and rigging; read blueprints and schematics; apply machinery knowledge.
• Follow MSHA/OSHA rules, SOPs, and environmental guidelines; participate in safety activities.
• Assist in training of employees in the mechanical maintenance area.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
