Job summary

First Student, Inc. in Harmony, PA is hiring a Diesel Technician I to maintain and repair school buses, ensuring safety and reliability. Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, day shift with competitive pay and benefits.

This role offers $28.00-$34.00 per hour based on experience, plus a $5,000 hiring bonus, company-paid ASE and CDL training, and opportunities for advancement across 540+ locations in the U.S. & Canada.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of diesel or automotive maintenance experience or equivalent education.
• Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license required and CDL Class B or ability to obtain.
• PA state inspection license or willingness to obtain.
• Willingness to pursue ASE certification (training and bonuses provided).
• Strong computer skills and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses for safety and reliability.
• Diagnose defects and perform brake, engine, suspension, and drive-train work.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Complete work orders accurately and support mobile emergency repairs.
