Job summary
ABM Industries is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform a full range of skilled maintenance, diagnostics, inspection, and repair on passenger shuttle buses. The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 9am to 5:00 pm, with ABM offering a comprehensive benefits package.
The candidate will inspect, diagnose, repair and test diesel-powered buses, ensuring safety and reliability for the fleet. Responsibilities include maintenance, tuning, and repairs of engines, fuel and electrical systems, and
Qualifications
- One to four years of experience as a mechanic, including experience with school buses, gas and diesel engines or passenger shuttle buses.
- ASE certifications in engine repair, automatic transmission, suspension & steering, brakes, electrical systems, and heating & air conditioning are strongly preferred but not required.
- Cummins, Caterpillar, Allison certifications are beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, adjust and repair diesel powered buses.
- Perform preventive maintenance and road test vehicles after work is completed.
- Ensure DOT compliance and complete required forms.
