Job summary

Holland America-Princess (Holland America Dawson City Inn) in Juneau is seeking a Diesel Bus Mechanic to keep our fleet of tour buses and support vehicles running smoothly during the Alaska season.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical/electrical issues, and conduct DOT inspections. A valid CDL with Passenger endorsement and ASE or OEM training are required.

We offer a competitive hourly wage of $32+ DOE, housing stipend, staff tour perks, and time off to explore Alaska.

Qualifications

• ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck or Transit Bus, or OEM training (Prevost, MCI, Cummins, Detroit, Allison, etc.)
• 3–5 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience; tour/coach bus experience a big plus
• Valid Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain quickly)
• Own professional tools preferred (specialty tools provided)
• Clean driving record and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
• CPR/First Aid a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on diesel buses and support vehicles
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, suspension, HVAC, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Conduct DOT inspections and maintain accurate records
• Repair or replace components including turbochargers, injectors, air compressors, differentials, and wheel seals
• Perform welding and light fabrication when needed
• Manage parts inventory and work with vendors for quick-turnaround orders
• Assist with pre-season fleet prep and post-season winterization
• Respond to road calls
