Job summary

U.S. Tsubaki is seeking an experienced machinist to interpret blueprints and plan the setup of die and tooling for precision machining. You will operate grinders and related equipment, verify precise dimensions with precision instruments, and troubleshoot tool performance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, problem-solving, and teamwork on a 4-day week schedule with potential overtime according to business needs.

Qualifications

• Blueprint interpretation and reading prints to visualize final form of die or part.
• Plan sequences of operations to achieve desired end result.
• Ability to set up and operate machine tools such as grinders.
• Verifies dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring tools.
• Troubleshoots tool performance and suggests improvements.
• Attention to detail to ensure high precision.
• Works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Study and interpret blueprints to visualize final form of die, part or tool, and plan sequence of operations.
• Set up and operate machine tools such as manual grinders and related equipment.
• Plan tooling setup considering materials, tolerances, cutting tools, coolants, lubricants, and grinding dimensions.
• Verify dimensions and clearances using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other gauges.
• Fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies using wrenches and presses.
• Troubleshoot poor tool performance and suggest improvements.
• Inventory and evaluate alternative cutting tools and shop supplies.
